Big Business caps Eddington’s year with a stakes win
Ozone Park, NY (December 31, 2014). Big Business closed
out a productive year with a flourish, winning Aqueduct’s
$100,000 Alex M. Robb Stakes by a head for owner Gary
Barber and trainer David Jacobson. The victory was the first
stakes win for the ultra consistent Eddington gelding who
compiled a 10-3-5-1 record in 2014 which included a runner-up
finish to Palace in the Grade I Forego and seconds in four other
stakes at Belmont and Saratoga.
With earnings of $763,430, Big Business ranks second to Secret
Circle (G1, $2,430,790) among Eddington’s leading money
winners. Bred in New York by Henthorn Racing Inc., Big Business
is the fourth foal and first winner produced from Spanish Guitar,
a stakes-winning daughter of Birdonthewire.
